Below is a brief overview of my design and engineering process for the Mood Player, covering CAD development, PCB and electronics design, and full system integration of key components including connectors, display, actuators, and sensors
Seamless integration of mechanical and electronic components with a highly optimize system architecture to enable a brushless DC motor (BLDC) while keeping overall thickness at minimum with adequate battery capacity
I engineered the CAD for DFM and DFA, applying stack up tolerance analysis, FEA for structural and thermal margins, and kinematic simulations to validate moving part clearances, wear interfaces, and assembly robustness.
Injection molded core structure
Collaborated with external manufacturing partners to execute prototype builds, sourcing and fabricating custom parts to specification across plastics, machined metals, sheet metal, and PCB assemblies, and coordinating DFM feedback, tolerances, and build readiness through each iteration.
